Trichy, also known as Tiruchirappalli, is a city in Tamil Nadu, India. It’s located on the banks of the Cauvery River and is the fourth largest city in the state. 

The most prominent historical monuments in Tiruchirappalli include the Rockfort at Teppakulam, the Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam dedicated to the reclining form of Hindu God Vishnu, and is also the largest functioning temple in the world, and the Jambukeswarar temple at Thiruvanaikaval.

 Tiruchirappalli is one of the oldest inhabited cities in Tamil Nadu. The world famous landmark in Trichy is the 85m tall Rock Fort right in the middle of the City, which used to be a military fort during the Pre-British era.
