Proceed to visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphange. The Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka’s most popular tourist attractions. The orphanage’s population has now mushroomed to around 65, making it the worlds largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here range in age from newborns to elderly matriarchs, and include orphaned and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild.

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kandy which is a UNESCO world heritage site. The historic city about 480m above sea level surrounded by mountains was known to Sri Lankan as Kanda Uda Rata, which means the hill country. Kandy was home to Sri Lanka’s last independent Kingdom, which survived two centuries of colonial incursion before finally falling to the British at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Visit the Temple of the tooth the Peradeniya University campus and catch a panoramic view of the picturesque town from Upper lake Drive. Early evening, you will visit a Kandyan Dance performance based on available and be treated to a spectacular fire walking finale.
Kandy is also famous for it’s shopping, gems and jewellery, handicrafts, batiks, silks ect. And you will have the opportunity of browsing to your heart’s content.

This is the best-established package-holiday destination on the island. It offers a further clutch of package resorts plus an outstanding selection of more up market places. The beach divides into two areas. At the north end, facing Aluthgama lies “Paradise Island”(as it’s popular known), a narrow spit of land beautifully sandwiched between the choppy breakers of the Indian Ocean and the calm waters of the Bentota lagoon.
It provides the setting for the island’s biggest range of water sports of, along with interesting boat trips up the Bentota river. The attractive southern end of Bentota beach comprises a wide and tranquil swathe of sand that’s home to one of the island’s finest clusters of top-end hotels.
And also visit the Turtle hatchery in Kosgoda which is being operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. Several species of turtles, especially the endangered hawksbill are protected here. Most vulnerable of all are their eggs, which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. The goodwill of Kosgoda area fishermen who bring these eggs gratis to the hatchery has led to the hatching and have released around 100,000 young turtles in only two.

The Independence Square is also a must visit, which today has become a major tourist attraction due to its historical significance and extraordinary work of architecture. Your visit will see the Old Parliament of Sri Lanka and the gorgeous Galle Face Green facing the beautiful Indian Ocean and Famous Gangarama Temple & lotus tower
