Today we visit Bardo National Museum, housed in a former palace of the Ottoman Bey. The Bardo showcases a world-class collection of mosaics, along with many remnants found in sites throughout Tunisia. Later we will explore the Medina – the historic heart of Tunis, here we will visit some of the old properties that are being restored. We will stroll through the Medina, admiring the architecture within the alleyways of the souk. Further we visit Carthage – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the most important roman site in Tunisia. Spread throughout the modern day suburb of Tunis, Carthage boasts ruins of great buildings, theatres, villas, baths, houses and columns from the great Punic and Roman empires. Here we see the ancient sites of Bysra Hill, Roman Theatre, Antoine Baths, and Sanctuary of the Trophet and the location of the ancient Roman port. Later we drive to Sidi Bou Saïd – a town in northern Tunisia known for its picturesque blue-and-white coloured village, cobbled streets, and breath-taking views of azure waters. Perched on a cliff-top, the village of Sidi Bou Saïd is considered one of the most beautiful spots in the world for tourists to visit.Night Stay in Tunis
Today we proceed to Hammamet – a popular beach destination in Tunisia. Upon arrival, we enjoy a Pirate Boat Cruise- a pirate-themed boat cruise around Yasmine Hammamet Port. During the tour, you can sunbathe on the upper deck and relax whilst listening to the music. The boat will stop 3-4 times, giving you a chance to swim in the turquoise sea. If you are lucky, you may see dolphins or sea turtles. Further we walk through the Medina – Its battlements enclose labyrinthine streets flanked by stores and stalls selling clothing, jasmine products, spices, cooking implements, and ornaments, followed by a visit to Kasbah – A 13th century fort which offers sweeping ocean views. Later we return back to Tunis.
Today we fly to Palermo – the capital city of Sicily. Upon arrival, we explore Palermo city, we visit Norman Palace – also known as the Royal palace of Palermo, followed by we pass by Palatine Chapel – renowned for its stunning mosaics, intricate marble work, and architectural elegance, Duomo di Monreale – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Norman architecture, Piazza dei Quattro Canti, Piazza Pretoria and Teatro Massimo. Later we have free time for shopping.
Today we proceed to Catania – a dynamic city rich in history, culture, and natural beauty. En route we explore the iconic filming locations from The Godfather movies. We discover the beautiful medieval villages of Savoca and Forza d’Agrò. First we explore the quaint village of Savoca. Here we walk through the medieval alleys and discover the sets of some iconic scenes of the movie, such as the famous Bar Vitelli where Michael asked Mr. Vitelli if he could marry his daughter. Later we visit the Church of San Nicolò. Next, we head to the Cathedral of Forza d’Agrò where another wedding scene was filmed. We then, visit Castello Degli Schiavi (subject to availability). – Most famously, it was used for the wedding scene of Michael Corleone in The Godfather.Night Stay in Catania
Today we visit Mt. Etna – one of the tallest active volcano in Europe. We hike along a mountain trail to spot lava flows and enter a lava cave. We also learn about the geological history of the volcano. Later we visit the Gambino Winery and learn how the rich volcanic soils play a part in creating the unique flavour of the local wines and enjoy a tasty Sicilian lunch with wine tasting. Today we proceed to Syracuse – the birthplace of the pre-eminent mathematician and engineer Archimedes. Upon arrival we visit Archaeological Park of Neapolis – housing the ruins of a Greek Theater, a Roman Amphitheater, and the old stone quarry and cave network of Latomie, where the famous limestone cave Orecchio di Dionisio is found. Further we proceed to Noto – a stunning town filled with exquisite, photo-worthy baroque architecture. We pass by Noto Cathedral, Cattedrale di San Nicolo, Palazzo Astuto and Palazzo Trigona di Cannicarao. Later we proceed to Pozzallo to board our ferry to Valletta – the capital city of Malta.Night Stay in Valletta
Today we explore Valletta, we visit the Cathedral of St. John – housing some of the beautiful arts and architecture in the world, followed by a visit to Upper and Lower Barrakka gardens – from here we enjoy a breath-taking view of the Grand Harbour, Casa rocca piccolo – a 16th-century palace in Malta and home of the noble Maltese family de Piro, Grand Master’s Palace – nowadays seat of Maltese Parliament. Further we proceed to Mdina – the former capital of Malta & Europe’s finest examples of an ancient walled city. Here we visit Cathedral of St. Paul, we walk along its lovely Mesquita Square, The Gate of the Mdina which was featured in the famous series of ‘Game of Thrones’. We also visit San Anton Botanical Gardens. Later we return back to Valletta.Night Stay in Valletta
Today we drive to Malta’s Cottonera Region, where we’ll explore the ancient cities of Senglea, Vittoriosa and Cospicua also known as the “Three Cities”, all are located across the Grand Harbour from Valletta, where we’ll find old fortified walls, impressive stone gates, tall cathedrals, and narrow streets lined with colorful balconies. Further we visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk, with a colorful waterfront lined with traditional fishing boats known as luzzus. Each boat is painted in red, blue, and yellow tones. Later we proceed to the western coast of Malta to visit the famous Blue Grotto, a deep sea cave only accessible by boat. It is a series of nine caves whose rocky sides glow green, purple, and orange according to their mineral content. Surrounding the caves are some of the clearest, brightest cobalt-blue waters imaginable. Night Stay in Valletta
It’s time now to say goodbye, Tour guests will proceed to the airport as per their scheduled group flight departure time to start their journey back home. Tour concludes.
