Georgia-Tbilisi One of Europe’s oldest capitals, Tbilisi has been the cultural, political, and economic center of Georgia for fifteen centuries. At the heart of the city lies historic Old Tbilisi, which was built during the early Middle Ages.Tbilisi has become known among tourists as an up and coming destination for nightlife and entertainment. In fact, the city is rumored to host two of the most exclusive dance clubs in Eastern Europe. Akhvlediani Street and Chardin area are notable for bars which cater to tourists, many of which feature live music.

DAY 1: ARMENIA – ARRIVAL

Arrival–  Arrival at Zvartnots International Airport.

DAY 2: YEREVAN CITY TOUR

Breakfast– Breakfast at the hotel.

Yerevan City Tour

 We will start the tour with the capital of Armenia: Yerevan. For ages this city has been known as a “pink city” because of the color of the stone it has been built with. Experience the enchanting charm of Yerevan as the sun sets with our City Tour.

Visit fruit market “Gum”

One of the most vivid places in Yerevan is Gum Market near the Tashir trading center, which opened during former the Soviet Union years. It operates every day from morning until late evening. Here you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, spices, many types of dried fruits, cheeses, traditional Armenian bread (lavash), pickles, and more.

Vernissage

Visit Vernissage; a vibrant open-air market and cultural phenomenon located in the heart of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Vernissage gathers local artists, craftsmen, and vendors who display and sell a diverse array of handmade crafts, traditional Armenian art, souvenirs, jewelry, carpets, ceramics, and other unique items.

DAY 3: YEREVAN - GARNI - GEGHARD - YEREVAN

 Garni Temple

 Take trip to Garni. This Pagan Temple was built in the 1st century AD. It is the only temple that has been preserves from the Pagan times in Armenia. It was devoted to the god Mihr, who was the god of cleanness. In 1679 it was destroyed by earthquake. In the 1975 the Temple was restored.

 Geghard Monastery

 Then we will continue our trip to Geghard Monastery. Its name came from the legendary lance that was used to pierce the body of Christ. It has been kept here for centuries. Though the exact foundation of the monastery is unknown, the present complex was built in the mid – 13th century.

DAY 4: YEREVAN - ECHMIADZIN - ZVARTNOTS - YEREVAN

Breakfast :Breakfast at the hotel.

Ejmiatsin Cathedral – Zvartnots Cathedral

We will start the excursion to centuries-old monuments Ejmiatsin and Zvartnots. These sites are listed on UNESCO World Heritage list. The Cathedral of Ejmiatsin, founded in 303, is the official residence of the Catholics of Armenia. Echmiadzin is a sacred place for Armenian people and a spiritual heart of Armenian Apostolic Church. We’ll continue the trip to Zvartnots Temple, which was built on 7th century by Nerses Builder. Currently there are only ruins of Zvartnots, but which has not lost its mystery over the years.

DAY 5: YEREVAN - SEVAN - DILIJAN - TBILISI

  Sevan

We will drive to Lake Sevan which is one of the largest lakes in the world. It stands out with its sweet and astonishingly blue water. Here we can enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the beautiful lake. Then we will visit Sevanavank Monastery which is situated on Sevan Peninsula. There are 2 monasteries actually; one of them is destroyed but the other stands still. They have been built in the Middle Ages, around 10th century.

Dilijan

Then we will drive to Dilijan. Walking along the Sharamberyan Street we will come across with many museums, souvenirs’ markets, small shops and so on. We will also observe two traditional houses built of wood, with tiled roofs and balconies with meticulously carved being typical examples of Dilijan.

Sadakhlo Armenia – Georgia Border

Drive to Sadakhlo Border between Georgia and Armenia. Meeting on the border. Change of guide and vehicle, Continue the trip in Georgia.

DAY 6: TBILISI -CITY TOUR

Tbilisi city tour

Tbilisi – (literally “Warm Spring”) is the capital and the largest city of Georgia, lying on the banks of the Mtkvari River. Founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali. The history of the city can be seen by its architecture.

Places to visit:

Old town: Metechi church and the statue of Tbilisi founder – king Vakhtang Gorgasali Visit Narikala fortress by cable car, an ancient fortress overlooking Tbilisi.Overnight in Tbilisi.

Abanotubani – is the ancient district of Tbilisi, known for its sulfuric baths;

Bridge of Peace -is a bow-shaped pedestrian bridge. The bridge was designed by the Italian architect (2010) Sharden street- modern street in Tbilisi with coffee-shops

Rustaveli Avenue – Main district of Tbilisi.

DAY 7: TBILISI - ANANURI – GUDAURI - KAZBEGI – TBILISI

Breakfast :Breakfast at the hotel.

 Tbilisi – Ananuri – Gudauri – Kazbegi – Tbilisi

Drive to Ananuri. Visit Ananuri (17th century) is a castle complex on the Aragvi River.On the way, take for picture at the Zhinvali Hydroelectric power station. Drive to Gudauri. Tour along the historical Georgian Military Road. Gudauri is a ski resort (2000 meters above the sea level) located on the southern slopes of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. Drive to Kazbegi (if the weather is appropriate) by crossing the “Jvari Pass” (2385 m. above the sea level) . Explore the area – beautifully situated on the hill. Hire 4X4 vehicles to get to Gergeti Holy Trinity Church, remarkable monument of Georgian architecture, near the village of Gergeti, situated at an elevation of 2170 meters, on the foothill of Mount Kazbegi (elevation 5033). Drive back to Tbilisi.

DAY 8: TBILISI - KAKHETI TOUR - TBILISI

Kakheti tour

Drive to the eastern part of Georgia- Kakheti region, known almost exclusively for its vineyards and wineries.

 Places to visit:

Sighnaghi – one of the beautiful towns of Kakheti region. Sighnaghi and its environs are home to several historical and cultural monuments. The town is walled with the remnants of 18th century fortifications. At the elevation of about 790 m above sea level, the town overlooks the Alazani valley and faces the Greater Caucasus Mountains.Bodbe Monastery – is a Georgian Orthodox monastic complex. Originally built in the 9th century.
